What support is available?
Our outreach team works with people who are rough sleeping. We work at hostels and day centres and offer support around all aspects of health and wellbeing to help people to achieve their goals.
How to access our support
No matter how you access Horizons, you’ll find a friendly face, reliable information and a safe place to be with likeminded people. We’ll guide you through the available support options, making it simple and straightforward for you to choose what’s best for you. All our services are confidential and free to use, and open to every person in Bristol.
Advice to reduce harm
We know that people may need, or may choose to, continue using drugs and alcohol, and that's okay. We provide harm reduction advice to help people keep themselves and others as safe as possible.
One-to-one support
You can receive support directly with a member of the Horizons team. They'll be understanding of what you're going through, offering a confidential, non-judgemental, safe space to confide in.
Health and wellbeing support
Our team can support you with all aspects of health and wellbeing, providing practical advice to help people access benefits, housing and employment opportunities.
Frequently asked questions
We understand you may have questions about our support. We've answered some of the most frequently asked questions to help provide some guidance.
Do I have to pay to use the service?
No! Our drug and alcohol support services are completely free of charge.
Will anyone find out I am using your service?
All your information is kept safe and not shared outside of our organisation without your explicit permission. We are only required to share information with other professionals if there is a serious risk to you or someone else.
I know someone who might have a problem. Can I refer them?
It’s brilliant that you can see how support could benefit the person – but they must be aware of the referral. You can accompany the person to support them attending. We also understand that substance use can affect friends and family, so we offer a dedicated service for the family, friends, and carers of the people we support.
Still have questions?
Many people here have been on the same path as you and are happy to answer any other questions you have. Please get in touch to speak to a member of our friendly Horizons team.
